I met Melissa when she was gown shopping and we immediately hit it off and started discussing wedding planning. She and her fiance Kevin are the sweetest couple and I was thrilled to be planning their wedding. The theme that they wanted to do was a vintage/fun theme with the colors of yellow and pewter.

The ceremony took place just after dark and the gazebo looked beautiful with all of the lights and the glowing tent in the background. After the ceremony the guests headed to the tent which was very cozy and all decked out for their reception to follow.

My favorite part of the wedding was during a dance for the bride and groom. Each of the guests grabbed a votive candle and made a circle around the bride and groom as they danced. It was very romantic and such a special moment for the Melissa and Kevin.

Marryoke - The newest wedding trend!

For the last few years, couples made their special day unique by copying coordinated dance routines down the aisle and at the reception, after that one couple did it on YouTube. Now, there’s a whole new “unique” thing everyone is doing: Marryoke.

Marryoke is lip-synch karaoke that a videographer captures your guests performing at different times of the wedding. When they edit it all together, you get a music video of your wedding, set to the timeless song of your choosing: Classic wedding songs like Etta James’s “At Last” and — nope, actually, Marryoke is mostly done to songs that aren’t likely to stand the test of time, like LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem,” or the Black Eyed Peas’ “The Time,” a remix of that song from “Dirty Dancing.”
The trend began in the U.K., but has made its way over to our shores — so don’t be surprised if you’re asked to lip-synch to some Katy Perry at a wedding this summer. Wedding trends, like the coordinated dances to Justin Bieber and Chris Brown songs, spread like wildfire among brides looking for a way to distinguish their wedding day from all of the others. Videographers even offer special “Marryoke” services as part of their packages, now.

What will a Marryoke video look like at the 50-year anniversary? Probably really cheesy — but if the couple makes it to 50 years still happily in love, it doesn’t matter.

Magnifique Events - Sarah & Patricks Gorgeous Winery Wedding

We love fall weddings when the leaves are turning and the air is crisp. That is why this was a perfect day in October for Sarah and Patricks wedding at Maysara winery in McMinnville. This winery is spectacular with a brand new building which was still not quite completed on the wedding day. When we first saw this facility we were thrilled to be coordinating this wedding. The stone work and architecture is just stunning and would make a perfect backdrop for their wedding.

We planned for an outdoor ceremony on the upper patio of the winery with the reception in the main building however, mother nature had different plans and we ended up having to move the ceremony to the tasting room. After moving all of the chairs and decor and the lighting of many candles we made the ceremony area a cozy and romantic place for the wedding ceremony to take place.

The reception followed with tray passed hors d' oeuvres followed by an amazing dinner. Along with drinking and dancing guests could also get their pictures taken in the photo booth. We had amazing vendors help us with this wedding and we thank them for all of their hard work to make this a truly magical day for Sarah and Patrick.

Last Sunday at the Braov Wedding Affair I spotted a group of ladies wearing these amazing corsets and skirts and I thought wow those are really beautiful and unique. I knew then that I needed to meet the designer and just a few hours later I had the pleasure of meeting Lisa Marie owner and designer of Enchanted Corsets. Yesterday she had the chance to come and see the boutique and now we have 3 of her sample corsets in the boutique including one with a skirt. These can be used for wedding day, wedding night or whenever. They are custom made so the ones we have in the boutique are not to try on but, to see the corsets and what can be done for the skirts if you are looking to have a full gown made. The corseted top in wedding fashion is making a huge comeback and if you have ever watched Say Yes to the Dress you can see the racy corset styles of dresses that I am referring to. I FOUND MY DRESS ONLINE FOR SO MUCH LESS.....

In todays marketplace and economy it is common to find something that you like in a store and then see if you can find it for less online. I even do this myself with computers and office supplies but, for a wedding gown I would never do this! You are taking a HUGE risk when you purchase a gown online. This is because what you see online is not what you get.

You might go to a boutique and even get the style number and then you see it online for a fraction of the cost. This is because the online companies are illegally using the photos from the designers and then in fine print saying that the dress will not be exact but "similar" to the photo. Also if the online site says you can change the color or alter the dress in ways the actual designer would not then it is a knockoff, I recently found a site where you can choose what designer tag you want in the dress.

What many people do not know is that the gown designers do not sell their gowns online AT ALL. Only authorized retailiers are allowed to sell their gowns and even we are not allowed to sell the dresses online and would have the line revoked if we did! Now many designers are putting tracking devices in the gowns so they can find out if any of the online stores are selling their dresses and who they are getting them from.

If everyone were to buy their dress online then all of the bridal shops would go out of business and you would not have a place to go and actually try on the dresses.Please support our local economy and don't buy your dress from an overseas web based company. There is something to be said about customer service and the gown shopping experience. So remember if it's too good to be true it probbably is and you get what you pay for!!!

Many people think that the bridal shops here in Portland don't like eachother and that we are super competitive which is just not true. Many of the shops have different dress lines that they carry and different customers that they are trying to reach.

Myself and a few of the competitors are very friendly with eachother because it is just so much easier to refer a bride to a place that will give the bride what she is looking for if you don't have what she needs. One of my favorites is The Silver Lining the owner Michelle is super nice and she has a HUGE selection of gowns including one of my favorite lines Pronovias. So if you are looking for a pronovias gown The Silver Lining is the place to go!

In the height of wedding "planning" season there are many bridal shows out there and these are couple that we recently participated in. The NW Wed Pro Bridal Show at the Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby. This was a smaller bridal show but, in a gorgeous location. We also got some fantastic photos from the show here are a few pictures from that show...

On Sunday February 21st we participated in the Bravo Wedding Affair at the Embassy Suites. We were located in the Colonal Lindbergh Ballroom. This is a much bigger show but, I love this show because each of the rooms has a theme and all of the vendors go way above and beyond in their booth set up. Here are a few pictures from that show as well!

I recently received a call from a bride upset about a wedding last year and the dress was ruined etc. However, we were not even open yet!! Just to be clear we did not take over Tres Fabu, we are not in their old location, we have no connection to Tres Fabu except that we both are in the wedding industry.

Appointment Notes...

I have been having problems with brides running late or not showing up for appointments. I am just letting you all know that I only have one dressing room, and my time on weekends especially is very tight, so I am squeezing everyone in 1 1/2 hour slots. If you are late or early, you run into other brides, etc. I am allowing 15 minute grace periods and then I am afraid you will lose your appointment. Rescheduling is very hard, as I have so few weekend slots open.

Showing up early would not be a bad idea, There are plenty of things to do around here if you find yourself with time to kill.

Recently we have had clients that have wanted to know more about the owners of Magnifique Boutique. Besides the "about us" information on our website. Well here is some fun and random information about the owners of a little boutique that is Magnifique!!!

Scott and I got married in September of 2008 at Stonehedge Gardens in Hood River. We were only engaged for about 4 months because Scott proposed to me in April of 2008 so my dress shopping and wedding planning was all done very quickly however, our wedding was more than we could have ever imagined. You will see pictures from our wedding in the boutique. We have the pictures here because we are currently remodeling our 1904 Victorian farmhouse located in West Linn that we purchased in March of 2008. The house is still in the remodeling phase so we can relate to all of you that are in the same building boat.

When we are not working at the boutique or at our house we love to spend time with our fabulous friends and family. We enjoy all that Portland has to offer from camping and boating in the summer to skiing and snowboarding in the winter. We also try to work out when we can and you will find me taking classes at 24 hour fitness. Along with designing Street of Dreams Homes Scott also works part time at the airport Home Depot. (It's his favorite place anyway so he may as well just work there).

We have 2 dogs a Siberian Husky named Jynx and a Beagle named Piper for the time being they are our babies and sometimes you will find them baking in the sun on the deck of the boutique. We are a dog friendly bridal boutique which may sound crazy but, it works for us. The dogs are clean and stay out of the dress area. We also enjoy dancing we have taken classes in Swing, Lindy hop and numerous country dances. When we can talk our friends into it you might find us at Bushwhackers on the dance floor. So now you know a little more about us and we look forward to helping you find that dress of your dreams or plan that perfect event.

2010 Bridal Fashion Trends

This is an exciting decade when it comes to bridal gowns. 2010 brings lots of choices to bridal fashion.
The focus this season is skirts with fuller and more dramatic silhouettes. Embellishments such as flower appliqués, bows, masses of ruffles or draped layers are incredible details that create individuality and style.

Fabrics for the next year are leaning back to the industry favorites. Lace, taffeta and tulles take the limelight. These light fabrics can create lots of airy volume allowing for a more comfortable gown on a hot summer day. Perfect for the ball gown bride because one thing is for sure…the ball gown is back. The only difference is that there will be a lot more drama on the lower half.

Another emerging trend is eye catching accents with the use of beading. Less fabric detail and more glitter is definitely in vogue. Embellished "jewelry style accents" in skillful patterns are incorporated into the design which forms part of the dress. This means less searching for that perfect piece of jewelry.

Another great trend is the Tea Legnth dress. This is perfect for a retro style wedding or any outdoor wedding.

Finally, two emerging fashion trends worth noting:

1. Color
While our society still thinks of a wedding dress in white, many brides are now confident enough to step outside the box and embrace a color that flatters their skin tone. Shades such as, silver blue, muted pinks, soft yellow and purple are popular choices.

2. The Two Dress Dilemma
Celebrities have set the tone here, by changing from their traditional wedding gown after the ceremony to a more contemporary slinky silhouette by evening. Whether the choice is a short number to show off a great pair of shoes or long and slender silhouette, it is a great excuse to buy another wedding dress. As long as the budget permits not too many of us would require much arm twisting here.

The 2009 trends that still carried forward to this year

1. One shoulder dresses have taken the runway by storm in 2009, so it is no surprise that it is a focal point in bridal fashion Drama created by architecturally manipulating fabric into many different types of details gives the basic strapless dress a whole new look.

2. Asymmetry, ruching and draping are still the rage and you will find it everywhere. It is rare to see a plain dress that doesn’t have some type of fold, pleat or gathers.

Today’s brides are exercising their right to portray their unique personality by selecting the perfect dress. Choosing a wedding gown is always a special time in a bride’s life. No matter what their taste is, they are sure to find an incredible creation in 2010 at Magnifique Boutique.

Recently I have had many brides looking for a dress that they found in a fashion magazine and want to purchase that exact dress. Then when they try on the dress they are upset that it does not look as how they imagined it would or match the look of the picture. It is rare that a dress in a magazine will end up being the perfect dress for you. Your dress shopping experience will be much better if you go to a shop and try on many styles of gowns so you can find the style that fits you best. Many brides are suprised that they end up not getting what they originally had in mind or saw in a picture. So remember the dress shopping experience is supposed to be fun and remember to keep an open mind, you might suprise yourself!

WARNING - DO NOT BUY A WEDDING GOWN ONLINE!

When searching for a good bridal gown online store, there are many of them that show up in your search results however, there are a lot of online bridal stores who use original designer wedding gown photos and slash the price dramatically in the hopes of persuading online shoppers that they’re getting a huge deal on designer dresses.

Here is REAL DEAL-- Designers DO NOT support online bridal stores! I have contacted all possible designers that you could think of, and NONE OF THEM support online bridal stores (unless the online bridal store has a physical bridal boutique). So, what do these online stores sell? They sell designer replica gowns. What I am strongly against is using the designers’ original photos to promote their products and mislead the shopper. If they want to create their own version of the designer gowns, they have to make an effort to create a sample dress for their buyers to see—NOT just show the original photo and tell them “your dress will look similar to this…” There are a lot of bride-to-be’s who still fall for this scam.

Please do not be misled, and if it sounds to good to be true it is and you get what you pay for. Go to a bridal shop where you can try on, touch and see exactly what your gown is going to look like. This will save you a lot of heartache and money in the long run.

Here are some photos of Kendall and Freddies gorgeous wedding at the Aerie at Eagle Landing. They had spectacular weather and Kendall danced the night away! They are such a sweet couple and really great to work with. I loved everything they chose from the brown and light blue colors to the filligree custom linens. My favorite part of the evening was watching Kendall dance to Bad Medicine by Bon Jovi, she loves the 80's hair bands. The night was not coplete until they played a few holes of putt putt golf and a sparkling departure. They were such a fun couple to work with and I wish them a lifetime of love.

This is a stunning Alvina Valenta mermaid style used wedding gown made of oyster silk duchess satin. The style number is AV9662. The bodice is a gorgeous ivory Alencon lace, features a "v" neckline with scallop-edge trim and low back. The waistline features ruched silk satin and the gown flutes softly out below the knee. The Alencon lace detail is repeated as a beautiful underlay at the hemline.

Silk Faced Duchess Satin/Tulle. Strapless ball gown and empire waist, very flattering, it makes anyone look thin. Satin bodice features a blush colored sache. The most beautiful/elegant dress!

Floral Sunshine - Annie Chen is the owner of Floral Sunshine and I got to meet her earlier this week. She is literally a burst of sunshine herself and also comes highly recommended from other vendors that I have worked with in the past. She too has a great website showing her fantastic floral designs.

Artistry by Austie - Austie Eckley literally burst into the boutique a couple of days ago and immediately I just loved her. She has a super outgoing personality and great attitude. She does fantastic makeup artistry and pictures from her website will blow you away, shes amazing. She also makes custom hair pieces that are perfect in every way. Many have a vintage flair and we hope to carry some of her items in the boutique soon.

Magnifique is UNIQUE!

I have had many people ask how my bridal boutique is different than the others in the area......

We are different in so many ways. One of the big differences is that when you arrive at Magnifique Boutique you will not be in a busy strip mall you will be in a quaint neighborhood in the Sellwood area of Portland. The shop itself is in a 100 year old house!

Upon arrival you will be offered a beverage including beer, wine and champagne to sip while you peruse the gorgeous gowns that we offer. You will also notice that these are not the same gowns that you have seen in all of the other shops. We have many exclusive lines that can only be found at Magnifique.

When you are here trying on gowns you will be our only appointment. Brides need a lot of attention and gown shopping is supposed to be a fun and pampering experience. You don't feel pampered if the person helping you is also attending to other clients at the same time.

We work around your schedule, if you can't come in until after our regular hours that is fine we can schedule you in when you are available to come in. That is one reason why we are open on Sunday while many of the other shops are closed.

Another option is that we will close the shop after hours to only you and your bridal party so you can all try on as many gowns as you would like and the entire shop is exclusively yours!

We also feature local jewelry designers and tuxedo rentals for the guys. So come on over to Magnifique Boutique and we hope to see you soon!

Recently with the economy the way it is many brides are trying to find any way to save a buck on their wedding. There is the correct way to save money and the incorrect way. A couple of places people seen to try and save money is with the cake. Everyone knows someone who likes to "bake" but, does that person have the right type of ovens to bake large cakes in and do they know that there needs to be support dowels inside the cake? Then can they put the cake together at the facility and do they have a refrigerated truck to transport the cake with? These would be some of concerns I would have with having a friend make the cake.

I personally have repaired many cakes and every time it has been a cake made by a friend or family member. I have seen cakes arrive melted because the people driving were getting cold in the car from the AC being on high. I have seen cakes fall because they don't have the dowels in them. I have also seen people eat these cakes and spit them out because the baker got the ingredients wrong.

You may spend more on having a professional bakery make your cake but, if something does go wring you can't take action against that person. So when someone offers to make your cake for you just make sure you know what you are getting into.

Another way people try to save money is by using an IPOD instead of a DJ. I am not a fan of this but, I have seen it be done well and not so well. A DJ is not just there to press buttons and take requests the DJ is your Master of Ceremonies and a very important element of any wedding. They are the ones who will announce you into your reception and make sure everyone is in attendance for all of the reception events such as cake cutting, first dance, garter toss etc. So if you must use an IPOD please make sure you have a microphone and someone who will make these annoucements.

TIP: Make sure that all of your music on the IPOD is at the same high volume level. This can become a problem if something is recorded at a low volme and then you can't hear it even if the speaker that it is playing through is turned up all the way. Imagine your ceremony music playing but, people can barely hear it.

Many brides face the predicament of going to try on gowns and finding that "the one" is over their budget. So here are some money saving tips that you can use to ensure the wedding is what you dreamed of and the gown is "the one"

Typically when brides come into our boutique they have a budget from $1500 to $3000 for a gown. Sometimes they might find something that is a few hundred more than what they wanted to spend and need ideas of how they can save that money later in the planning process.

5 Cost Saving Ideas

Hire a wedding planner! This may seem like an added expense but, many planners can save you money with vendors that they know and get discounts from. Plus they review contracts and make sure that you are not being taken advantage of. They are also know about how much items really cost.
Another way to save is by cutting the guest list, does your second cousins neighbor really need to be invited to the wedding? Many people think they have a huge guest count but, if you really examine who truly will be invited and be able to come might be a number less than what you were expecting.
Have your wedding on a weekday! This seems crazy to some people but, many vendors and facilities offer huge discounts to weekday weddings. Some of my favorite weddings that I have planned have been on weekdays. They were also some of the biggest fun dance party raging weddings that I have done as well. If you send out save the date cards there is no reason why your guests would not be able to take a day off work. Many guests love that they have to take time off. If people are traveling the day of the wedding does not make a difference because they are taking time off anyway.
Fore go the favors! Many times brides spend way to much time and money on favors that people don't end up taking with them at the end of the night. Or it is something that goes in a drawer and eventually gets tossed. Unless it is something they can truly use or eat I would pass. A fantastic idea is to donate money or time to a charity you are interested in and then have not cards at each place setting that says in lieu of a favor you have donated to the charity.
Have just a beer and wine bar. Or if you really want to have cocktails, have those for just a set amount of time during the cocktail hour. Many couples are shocked when they get their bar bill for a full hosted bar. I have done events where for just 100 people the bar bill came to over $16,000! This couple was expecting this but, could you imagine if you had no idea the cocktails would cost that much. Or you can set a budget for the bar and ask to be notified when that number is reached. Many people will say that they don't have many drinkers (everyone says this) however, when the bar is free many people who typically don't drink much will enjoy the 25 year scotch that they have always wanted to try.

Pets at the Party

Many brides and grooms these days are choosing to have their pets in the wedding. This is definitely a good way to have your pet be part of your special day. However, there are tips to make sure the day goes the way you planned with your favorite pet being at your side.

Make sure the facility will allow the pet to be there and find out specifically what area the pet can or can't be in.

Make sure you have someone besides the wedding couple to care for the pet on the day of the wedding. This should be someone who knows the pet and is comfortable disciplining the pet if needed. This person should also have a supply of treats, and poop bags for any messes that will happen.

The pet should be leashed at all times, not everyone likes pets and also you don't want the pet to jump up on their wedding day outfit.

During the ceremony make sure there is someone there to escort the pet away if needed. If the pet is kennel trained bring the kennel and after the time that the pet is needed take the pet away from the area.

Do not leave the pet in a car especially on a hot day even if the windows are rolled down! A pet can overheat in a car even in the winter if the car is in the sun!!

Make sure if you are having the pet wear flowers that the type of flowers are not poisonous to the pet in case they eat them.

Make sure your photographer and videographer know that the pet is going to be there so they can be prepared and get those cute photos.

True Story: When my husband Scott and I got married we had our two dogs Jynx and Piper a Siberian Husky and a Beagle. They each had an attendant with them and we made sure the dogs were groomed that morning and somewhat worn out by the time they arrived at the ceremony location. Everything went great with having them there but, during the ceremony the beagle decided that she wanted to talk. It turned out she just wanted to be sitting next to the Husky but, we did have someone that escorted her away and it got a laugh from the guests. So even with being prepared you never know what can happen. Thankfully most of those events turn out funny and memorable.

Perfect Summer Wedding Tips

In the Northwest the months of July through September are when most brides and grooms choose to get married. Yet, even those months do have rain and it is best to be prepared for whatever weather may come your way.

Either way, in the Northwest you should always have a backup plan for an outdoor wedding. This is where the expertise of a professional wedding planner can really save you and your wedding. The best plan is to reserve a tent with sides and heaters as a back up plan. You will typically have to put down a deposit on these items with the rental company and may lose it if you don't need to use the items but, in the end think of that money as insurance. If you wait until the week of your wedding and rain is in the forecast it will be much harder to secure these items because everyone else that is getting married outside is doing the exact same thing!

Heaters are really important as well because if people are cold they will leave early and we all want people to stay and enjoy the whole wedding and reception. If your guests will have to walk from the ceremony to the reception it is a good idea to have umbrellas for them these can be rented as well.

On the other end of the spectrum you should have a plan set if it's going to be really hot. Make sure that there is shade for people to sit in and again renting umbrellas is not a bad idea. If your dining tables are going to be in the sun you can always get unbrella tables instead. Also make sure everyone has water to drink! Don't wait until after the ceremony for the water either. It is easy to have a bucket with bottled water that people can have before the ceremony especially if they are sitting in the sun.

Another fun idea is to print your programs on fans or have small fans as favors. Also make sure the bridal party stays hydrated!! Especially guys wearing all black in their tuxedos! Also beer doesn't count as hydration!! :) Another option is to have cold towels for people to use after sitting in the sun. Most important especially for those in the wedding party and having lots of pictures done. Wear sunblock SPF 45 because you don't want to have red faces in your pictures. Also a lot of makeup these days has sumblock in it and works well for re-applying if you are sweating.

Remember on your wedding day don't stress about the weather! There is nothing that you or anyone else can do about it. Instead of being bummed about the liquid sunshine embrace the rain and use it to your advantage. For instance you can get really cute pictures with you and your new husband under an umbrella, if your facility has a fire place have it lit to add a cozy space for guests to warm up to. Candles are easy items to add last minute while they don't work great when it's sunny and 90 degrees but, when it's cold and rainy you instantly have a really romantic look. If you have cute rain boots pull em out and use them as well for fun pictures. Just remember your wedding is never ruined by the weather and if you are having a great time so will your guests!

Wedding Shoe Tips:

When you buy your wedding shoes make sure to break them in before the wedding. I wore mine to our wedding dance classes to make sure I would be able to dance in them at the wedding.
It is good to have a couple pairs of shoes at your wedding in case your feet get sore plus it's fun for pictures. I had 3 pairs for our wedding 1 pair of heels that were for the ceremony, 1 pair of cowboy boots for dancing and fun pictures and 1 pair of flip flops for when my feet said no more! This is good for the bridal party as well, flip flops are a great alternative for summer weddings when the shoes start to hurt.
If you are getting married on a lawn pass on the spike heels, you don't want to get stuck in the grass. Also make sure the wedding facility does not water the grass the day of your wedding so that it is dry for your guests and a little harder surface to walk on. A good shoe for a ceremony on a lawn is a stacked heel or a wedge shoe.
Also make sure your wedding planner has band aids and mole skin on hand for anyone who gets a blister.

Why do I need to make an appointment to try on wedding gowns?
In order to give you the full attention of our experienced consultants, appointments are suggested.

Bring pictures of dresses you’ve seen on our website, in magazines, on www.theknot.com, or that you’ve tried on elsewhere. And bring an open mind: don’t be surprised if you find “the dress” on your first visit to Magnifique Boutique. We have plenty shoes and undergarments for you to use when you try on gowns.

Who should I bring to my appointment?
Bring the closest friend or family member whose opinion you value and who knows you well and with whom you want to share the experience of buying your gown. Bringing a lot of people can take the focus off of you.

May I take pictures of the gowns while I try them on?
Yes you may!

When should I order my veil and/or headpiece?
Special-order designer veils have a 3-4 months lead-time, so making a decision at the time you order your gown is helpful.

How far in advance do I need to buy my gown?
It's best to allow 4-6 months before your wedding to order a gown.

What is a special-order gown?
Most of the gowns we sell are special-order. A special-order gown is made specifically for you by a designer, based on the measurements we take from you, the designer then uses their pattern that is closest to your measurements to create your gown. Then if needed you have it altered for a perfect fit.

How do I pay for my gown?
We accept American Express, MasterCard, and Visa, as well as cash and personal checks.
Full payment is required upon ordering of the gown, if you need to cancel your order it must be within 5 days of the order being placed. Once the gown arrives and passed our quality control check we will call you and let you know the gown is in and to come in and have your fitting and make arrangements for alterations if needed.

HELP! I’m getting married less than 4 months – is it too late to get a gown from you?
No, it’s not too late, but every second counts! Your options include buying one of our samples off the rack or working with a consultant to determine which designers can meet your time frame for a "special order" gown, which could include an additional rush charge.

Sellwood Passport Event

As of this morning we are new members to the Sellwood Westmoreland Business Alliance and will be participating in the Passport Event on August 8th.

“Passport to Sellwood” functions as a venue to move people around the neighborhood. Each person receives a ‘passport’ and is encouraged to visit as many businesses as possible to get their passport stamped at all of the participating businesses. Once they have 6 or more stamps on their passport they are eligible to enter the raffle to win gift certificates donated from the local businesses.

Magnifique Boutique Grand Opening

On Friday June 5th we had our grand opening event. Many people from the local wedding and event industry came by to see the boutique, along with many friends and family. Jennie has a 9 year distinguished career as a Wedding and Event Coordinator. Her career began after graduating with honors from the University of San Diego Event Management Program
After moving to Portland in 2000, Jennie has coordinated hundreds of weddings and events. Her background includes: hotel event management, catering, fundraising and destination management. She has been published in Destination Weddings magazine and in Special Events Magazine. Known for her meticulous attention to detail, uncompromising service, and smart, inventive style.
Scott is the owner of Streitberger Home Designs. He has designed homes for the past 13 years including many Street of Dreams homes. He brings to the business a strong working knowledge of design elements and event business logistics.

New Bridal Shop in Portland, Oregon!

Just in time for a June bride. Portland welcomes a new bridal boutique to the wedding industry. Owners Jennie and Scott Streitberger decided to open a bridal boutique in Sellwood after the unfortunate closing of Tres Fabu.

Even during this time of recession and many shops closing their doors this young couple exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit it takes today to open a fantastic and successful new business. Their hip Paris themed boutique features many exclusive couture designers and an array of jewelry, shoes, tuxedos and accessories.

Some of the gown lines that the boutique features are new to the Oregon bridal market. The boutique will also feature wedding and event planning services under the name of Magnifique Events. Jennie has a nine year history of wedding and event planning experience in Portland.

The boutique is located at 8535 SE 13th Avenue, corner of 13th and Clatsop. Located in a historic Victorian house on antique row in the Sellwood neighborhood of Portland.
